Yannig Willmann has spent these last three years at the Fresnoy, Tourcoing’s national contemporary art studio. This studio is dedicated to the marriage of traditional art like movies and photography with new media and technology. The ‘Fresnoy’ tries to initiate interactivity and digital art projects inside a movie or visual art. Among Yannig’s last works, two have used digital art and interactivity as a means of writing a piece of art. In the same time Yannig has collaborated on several projects as a photography director and has been responsible for the visual effects.
Yannig works with an artist or movie director moving in contemporary art as Alain Fleischer or Pier Paolo Calzolari.
We met with him and ask a few questions around his last video clip: Treatment. Treatment is the result of the meeting of Yannig and Sam Britton from the Icarus band.
