Akama Studio - Rapt Soda Making Of
Studio Profile

IA: Where you influenced by other short movies or animations when working on RAPT Soda?

AS: There are no direct influences with any new work, we made it look like the old Warner Cartoons mixed with some Kung Fu scenes; we love the Bruce Lee movies. As for the resemblance with “Ratatouille” of Pixar Studios it is just a coincidence that both came out at the same time. One might think that we got inspired from Brad Bird movie but that is not the case, not that we don’t respect and admire the work of Pixar. When we started working on our short and it took us a long time to finish it and we didn’t have any clue of what Pixar was preparing. Happy coincidence or not, we do recognize the superior quality of Pixar and all their work is a source of influence not only for us but to many other artists.

IA: Do you have projects that you are presently working on?

AS: It’s hard to reveal current projects, especially for advertisement movies which are the major part of our work, as you know the client prefers to keep advertisement campaigns secret until the launching date. We are allowed to say that we are working on a short movie for a big car company and that this short is meant for the online audience. At the same time we are developing ideas, concepts and personal scripts that we might turn into short or longer films. The problem remains the same, we will need funds of course and time to create a new production.

IA: Would you like to add anything else?

AS: We would like to thank all the people, talents, artists and specialists that helped us to create this awesome production RAPT Soda. And of course big thanks for all the people who took some time to watch this short and to send us feedbacks about it. Finally, we would like to thank IT’S ART for its interest in this movie.
