With their last short, A Gentlemen’s Duel, Blur Studio, animation studios renowned for the high quality of their commercial work as well as that of their short movies, is accessing to the highest ranks of the market and preparing to become one of its major participants. Tim Miller and David Stinnett were the two main founders of Blur. They were two animators and FX artists at Sony Pictures Imageworks and left to build a studio more than 13 years ago. |

They vowed to create a place where artists could thrive in an atmosphere that would be relaxed, edgy and devoid from corporate bureaucracy. Today Blur counts 77 artists and producers working in an open-minded, creative and somewhat flexible environment. Blur Studios are located in a huge former warehouse in Venice, California. There’s some graffiti on the walls, lots of coffee machines, tons of comic books but no cubicles!! Most of the animators took formal training in colleges from all around the world and each is dedicated to animation with passion in their hearts and fire in their bellies. Blur has grown from a service based company to one that thrives on the development of strong stories and meaningful characters.
