We recently had the opportunity to ask Jeff from Chez Eddy some questions about his Studio and their latest works.

IA: Can you please tell us about the history of your studio and what’s the concept behind it?

CE: The work we did in 2000 “Paf le moustique” helped us gain the confidence of many people in the production field. Animation directors not being a sufficient job, we decided to start Chez Eddy in 2002 in order to work on other projects and eventually work on ours as well.

IA: What are the main characteristics of your studio?

CE: I think that the mood is very familiar in our offices and the employees are easy going, have a good time and are very motivated. We insist first and foremost on the quality of our work. We also react swiftly to every situation; I think that the clients expect this from us, finding a quick solution to any problem and implementing the changes needed on the different levels, which is how a client is reassured and knows that we are fully implicated from the first second.

IA: How many employees work for the studio presently and what are their positions?

CE: Well, it actually varies. We work mainly with freelancers. Usually we are at least eight but we can easily see this number triple for some projects. We mainly work on traditional animation, we hire specialist in Maya, Fusion, After Effect, Final Cut and Motion.

IA: How many directors do you have in the studio and what are their specializations?

CE: We have four directors working for Chez Eddy and each is specialized in a specific field. The Fraggleboo work usually on Full 3D animation. These guys have more than ten years of experience in the field. The Sevenspanks are ESAG graduates, they are graphic artists who work on creating universes. David & Oerd are plastic artists with a solid experience in animation. Mathieu Gueritte is also an ESAG graduate just like the sevenspanks. Mathieu is an excellent animator and has an exclusive graphic universe.
