IT'S ART Challenge : "The Control of Nature"






From Feb 19th to May 31st, IT’S ART is holding a contest called “The Control Of Nature”. In either 2D or 3D, you must try to portray what sort of situation, real or imaginary, the following concept can inspire you to create :

"Since humans have been on Earth, they have tried to control nature. With an era of new technology, humanity tries harder and harder to dominate by eliminating and selecting species to better fit their needs. How will it end? Does nature really control the humans?"


Rules & Terms

Challenge rules apply to individuals.

All entrants must be registered with IT’S ART website (gallery and/or forum).

Entries should be original and should remain unpublished outside of IT’S ART prior to the close of the challenge. Any entry deemed by the judges to be identical or substantially similar to any other entry previously entered may be disqualified as a derivative work.

The project submited to this contest must be of your personal work & creation. Collaborative or workgroup projects are not allowed.

Only one project per artist, category and contest.

Your project must be an original creation, copies, plagiats and modifications of existing project are not accepted. You must have all rights and copyrights to your artwork.

W.I.P . (Work/s In Progress) must be posted in the IT'S ART forum contest WIP area. This will stand as proof that the project is your own creation by showing the various phases of realisation, and allow others to review and critique to help you improve it.

No late entries will be accepted. IT’S ART will not be held responsible for late entries for any reason whatsoever. It is the sole responsibility of the entrants to make reasonable allowances for upload times and to plan accordingly.

Decisions by the Judges are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Any import taxes or duties on prizes must be paid by the prize winner. It is neither practically possible nor ethically reasonable for IT’S ART or any of the sponsors to pay duties and taxes on behalf of a winner. IT’S ART and sponsors will not make false valuation claims to assist winners from evading any applicable duties and taxes.

By entering artwork to the competition, the entrant warrants that they are the sole copyright holder or they have obtained the rights sufficient for the purpose of the competition.

Entrants’ works can be offered separately as isolated works of art--print, etc.--or as part of a suite of prints, or posted on artist or web site(s), if they are accompanied with suitable credits to original works : if the work is to be used in a commercial context, permission must be granted in writing from the creator of the original work.

The entrant grants IT’S ART and competition sponsors rights to use all entered materials in any media for sales, marketing and merchandising material provided full and correct credit for the artist clearly appears with said materials.

The winners grant IT’S ART first right to publish their submitted work in any media.

Entrants should to notify IT’S ART in writing at least one week prior to the publication of their work in any media during the competition.

Other than the rights assigned in the preceding clauses, entrants retain copyright of all entered materials and are free to use said materials for personal promotion.

IT’S ART may suspend a category if insufficient entries are received for that category to be considered viable and be judged.

IT’S ART reserves the right to suspend, shorten, modify or cancel the challenge, including these rules, in any manner at its sole discretion with or without prior notice.

The final image, if selected for print in IT'S ART Magazine should fit a A4 page (2480x3508 or 3508x 2480 300dpi) however for the web and Gallery, the size and format restrictions are as follow : Only jpeg images of maximum 1600x1200 pixels are accepted / 512kb max). IT'S ART will provide to selected artists, all details to upload the final illustration via FTP.

Employees and immediate family relatives of IT’S ART staff, sponsors and judges cannot compete in the challenge.
