Beren and Luthien / Photoshop and other painting programs
He called her by her elvish name;
And there she halted listening.
One moment stood she, and a spell
His voice laid on her: Beren came,
And doom fell on Tinuviel
That in his arms lay glistening.”
J. R. R. Tolkien
JRR Tolkien has been undoubtedly a great inspiration for my art. The emotions and environments which he describes in his book excite my imagination, and every scene becomes a source of inspiration. Mood and emotions play a key role in my paintings. There are artists who know perfect anatomy, others with amazing knowledge of perspective, but I think my own strong point is my ability to express emotions through the use of color and light.
When I draw a forest, I start adding basic volumes to create the general composition and add some depth. The trees’ shapes and sizes should be different from each other, in order to look more natural.
