IT’S ART : What would you say to qualify or present your show to someone who doesn’t know it ?

Jerry Zucker - “It’s JerryTime!” features “true tales of Jerry (Zucker)’s life,” a beleagured everyman whose life is a bit harder than it should be. It’s a humorous monthly webisodic featuring quirky animated episodes with an original ragtime piano track. Episodes feature Jerry’s confrontations with a variety of nagging antagonists including an angry landlord, an evil bartender and a swarm of meal moths. As Jerry describes his depressing quandaries, he tries to make sense of the indignity of it all.

I.A. - What has motivated you to start the IT’S Jerry Time’s adventure?

Orrin Zucker : I have a company called Ozone which produces animation for broadcast. At the time, I was working on graphics for a TV show that involved a lot of character animation. I had never really done much of that before. After the show ended, they asked me to pitch them ideas for an animated show. Toward the end of the process, at lunch one day, Jerry launched into a story that had happened to him the night before when he was insulted by a bartender. After hearing it, and listening to years of similar unfortunate tales, it dawned on us that we had a vast library of stories that were perfect for visualizing. We also knew that it would be ideal for the web because it was essentially a video journal about his life. The technology was there to instantly share this with the world. Within a month we had launched the site and posted our first episode, “Who’s That Guy?”.
