I.A. - The first Episodes are available on DVD and offer a better quality than the quicktime clips. I would like to know what your opinion is about distributing shorts via the net, on your own website, but also on network like Youtube?
O . Z . - : We h a v e mixed feelings about distributing our work on the net. On the one hand, it can't be beat for getting your work seen. On the other hand, the business model is evolving and i t ' s pretty difficult to actually make a l i v i n g p o s t i n g animations on the web. So we went with a middle ground and posted our work only on our site. We didn't put it on YouTube or other similar sites. But like everything else about the web, it'll probably change very soon.
I.A. - Do you see Youtube-like websites as a danger for creation or a new way to promote artwork?
O.Z. - : Both. You can't beat the number of eyeballs that visit this site, but breaking through becomes next to impossible. As more and more videos get uploaded every day, the ones that float to the top aren't always the most artistic statements. Unless you're willing to create work which you think will resonate with that audience, I'm not sure it's the best idea.
