Apple vient d'annoncer la sortie du MacBook Pro 17" qui offre un gain de performances "deux à cinq fois supérieures par rapport au PowerBook 17". Le MacBook Pro 17" est équipé d'un processeur Intel Core Duo 2,16 GHz. Il offre une résolution optimale de 1680 par 1050, la même que celle d’un iMac 20", le portable intègre un port Firewire 800, un lecteur SuperDrive 8x double couche. Vendu 2899 €, MacBook Pro 17" embarque 1 Go de RAM, un disque dur de 120 Go, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth 2.0 ainsi qu’une carte ATI Mobility Radeon 256 Mo.
