New Shaders (Node Editor)

In adition to the Classic and Dither motion blur, there is also a new Photoreal Motion Blur mode. When this blur mode is selected the motion of objects, lights and the camera will appear within a single motion blur pass.

Kappa II for Sub-Surface Scattering

This nodes’ output is intended to be connected to the Diffuse Shading input of the Surface destination node. It has the advantage of speed over the “real” SSS model called Omega by the same creator and often looks just as good

Occlusion II

Occlusion or “ambient occlusion” is a shading method used to help add realism by taking into account attenuation of light caused by obstructive geometry. The appearance achieved by ambient occlusion is similar to the way an object appears on an overcast day.

New Materials (Node Editor)

Conductor

Appropriate for simulating metallic surface finishes accurately. The appropriate values for various conductors (metals) can be obtained from published data in handbooks of optical constants

 Dielectric

Dielectric is a physically accurate node for simulating glass-like materials. This this state-of-the-art node creates realistic glass. Dielectric uses Beer’s Law, which is about energy absorption, occurring when light passes through a surface.
