Pro Or Not? In its’ CS version, Photoshop has added similar features. What then is the plus that Stitcher gives for this kind of work? If we compare the two software we find that Photoshop is incapable of color harmonization and the transitions between the images are clear. And Photoshop cannot manage the geometrical abnormalities between the assembled images. The versions Pro and Unlimited of Stitcher manage information such as HotSpots that allow attaching different panoramas between each other through clickable zones. One of our objectives in testing Stitcher was to discover what the very affordable (€99) Express version can offer to an amateur who wishes to stretch the possibilities of his traditional or digital camera at little expenses. We found out that the Express version is perfect for this task and allows the user to discover new ways of considering the work and adding as well a creative touch. Professionals will be more interested in versions Pro and Unlimited which offer them a more performance rendering matrix using more powerful filter modes. Professionals will also take advantage of advanced 3D features and offer the opportunity to work on very dynamic images (HDR). (An HDR image is made up of a series of standard images (JPG) shot with different exposures. The first and the last in this series must make it possible to distinguish the most luminous details for one, and the darkest in the other.) The compatibility with the PSD format is also very advanced in the versions Pro and Unlimited and the users will be able to work with images taken with a “fish-eye” lens.
